10 years on – We Remember Christchurch Earthquake

Every year in New Zealand we have roughly around 15,000 earthquakes but only 100 or 150 are large enough to be felt. A decade ago 4:35am on the 4th of September in Christchurch residents in the city awoke a 7.1 magnitude earthquake.

It has been 10 years since the natural disaster had occurred in New Zealand. The earthquake was near a town called Darfield, approximately 40 km away from Christchurch.

It was so strong that it was felt all over the South Island. Buildings as far as Timaru and Dunedin were damaged from the blasts.

First Day At Science

Today we had science but we couldn't go to tech because of lockdown. It was pretty disappointing that we couldn't go. We still had digital tech so we went on google hangouts to talk to our new science  teacher Mrs Sharma. She gave us a quiz to do and some of the questions were pretty difficult. Some weren't. The first two questions were name the animal groups of the animal kingdom and what gas do we breathe in and need to stay alive.

After we finished the quiz we had to share the link to Mrs Sharma and she told us today's session was over. Our class waved bye and all of us left one by one.
