Wood Works: Evaluation

1.  How well did I do in completing all of the things that I needed to do for this project ? considering I finish my project on time, I think I did great.

2. My design ideas were:
Pull Along Tray
Train Toy
Piano Toy
Candy Dispenser
Car Toy
Mirror

3. My final design was the piano toy.

4. For my working drawing, I used a pencil and a ruler.

5. After drawing had to mark out the joints on the piece of wood.

6.My next step was to cut out the joints with the backed saw.

7. When you're chiselling out the joints you have to use a bench hook, mallet and a backed saw.

8. I then put the joints all together .

9. Looking at what I have produced I found out that the piano doesn't work but at least it looks good.

I wouldn't change anything if I had to do the piano again.

103-Year-Old Skydiver Breaks Record

Kathryn Hodges is 103 years old and from Seattle. She is celebrating 103 years of her life going sky diving

If the jump was successful she would have set a new world record for being the oldest female tandem skydiver.

She jumped out of a plane 10,000 feet from the ground over Snohomish country.

Kayaking At Wero White Water Park

Today we went to Wero White Water Park to learn how to kayak. We had arrived and sat down and waited a couple of minutes for the tutor to tell us to change into our togs.

We had to put on the wet suits, life jackets and a helmets on after that, we finally got to kayak.

The tutor led us to the end of the river and made a challenge to go back to shore without falling of the boat... We lost the challenge.

We took the wet suits, life jackets and our  helmets of and went to shower. We waited for every one to come out so we can leave, then we went back to school.
It was fun and exciting.

Technology Wood Works / How To make a Piano

At technology wood works
I have chosen to make a piano for decorations.

I think this is the best choice because it looks interesting and you can pull the top off.

It will be used for storage.

For this project I will have to consider making my measurements correct.

Step 1. I used a paper, ruler, and a pencil to make a full size drawing of my piano  because if I didn't I would unable to know the measurements.

Step 2. I used a pencil to copy the measurements from my drawing to a piece of wood.

Step 3. I marked square line (at 9 percent) across using a tri square to perfect it.

Step 4. I cut off the piece of wood into 3 using a bench hook and a backed saw.

Step 5. Then I marked out the joints using a bench hook, back saw, chizzle, and a hammer.

Step 6. I chiseled out the joints and put a long piece of wood into the joints so that the wood can get stuck to the longer piece of wood.

Step 7.  I put a piece of wood in front of the piano and glued it.

Step 8. I had to draw lines so it looks more like a piano.

Step 9.  Mr Grundy made me a lid to put on top of the piano so you can't see inside it.
