Bumper Feijoa Crops Hit New Zealand

New Zealand is set for a bumper Feijoa crop in 2020. Feijoas are just coming into season. They will in April and remain in huge supply until the end of June. Feijoas are really high in vitamin C. During autumn and winter it is more important than ever to consume plenty of fresh fruit to boost our immune systems and fight off any coughs, colds or bugs. 


Growers have said that this year’s crop is approximately 20 percent higher than last year. It is expected that around 1500 tonnes will be harvested this season.

New Zealand First Online Supermarket Opens

The country’s first purpose-built online supermarket opened yesterday. The new Countdown e-store is located in Penrose, Auckland. It is predicted that the new store will fill up to 7500 online orders a week from the Auckland region. 

It will employ 200 people, including 106 new jobs. The e-store, which will operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week was planned prior to the virus lockdown.

Jacinda Ardern gives Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy Lockdown Exemption

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has given the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy exemption from the national lockdown. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern made the announcement on Monday afternoon at her daily press conference. 
However, she also told kids that the lockdown restrictions and busy time of year might make it difficult for him to visit everyone around the country.
