The New Zealand land speed record was broken over the weekend. The NZ air force sergeant Dean Hart has set a new record for the NZ land speed record.
He had set 363.436 kilometres an hour at the Ohakea air force base and the previous record was 355.485 kilometres and hour.
NZ land speed record is the average speed the car does over a mile.
During his run he reached a top speed of 482 kilometres an hour.
It was the first time that he had attempted the record and gets Castrol trophy for setting the land speed record.
